Kenyan President Rewarded A 14-years-old Girl Who Sacrificed Her Life While Conserving Her Fellow Schoolmates In The Time Of Fire Calamity.

Uhuru Kenyatta The Kenya President honourably rewarded a 14-year-old girl, Mary Mokaya who saved her schoolmates from terrible fire at Moi girls yields.

According to Kenyan news, Mary died while preserving  her fellow mates when a grievous fire completely enclosed their hall at Moi Girls High School Nairobi in September 5, 2017.

The fire which broke out at 2am killed seven girls instantly while two others succumbed to their injuries in different Nairobi hospitals where they had been rushed.

While honouring Mokaya, President Kenyatta said, “Daily, we see acts of heroism; let us celebrate them today. We remember Mary Mokaya, who saved fellow students from the Moi Girls’ fire, at the cost of her own life.

“May God rest her soul and that of her colleagues, in eternal peace. And may her name and her example of selflessness, be a shining example to us all.”

Uhuru paid her a moving tribute as he urged Kenyans to think of others first for the good of the nation.

“Mary’s actions during that tragedy provide poignant lessons for us to reflect upon at this moment in our nation’s history.

“At the tender age of 14, she sacrificed for the sake of others. Mary’s great act and courage will forever be engraved in our hearts,” he added.
